Erik - your message really touched me today - thanks for stopping by.  I consider Mother Teresa hero too!

Hector and Sue,

I just read the New Yorker (August 3, 2015) article.  You two are heroes to me, more so than just about any person except Mother Teresa.  Hector, I grew up in Lyndonville at the same time you were growing up in Barre.  I remember reading about you as a hockey star though I played other sports, so your story was more personal to me because of that Vermont connection.  The thing that struck me most as I read the article was how many cast off children's lives you two have profoundly influenced.   While I stopped going to church a couple of years ago, your story reminds me that amazing grace still exists.   How incredibly better the world would be if we all had even 1% of your dedication to serving those less fortunate.  I am truly humbled by your story.  Thank you for being such an inspirational couple.  God has and will surely continue to bless you.
